ALLEN (JOHN, editor) The Humiliation and Exaltation of Our Redeemer, in 32 Prints, Representing the Original Wood-blocks of Albrecht Durer, GIFT INSCRIPTION FROM WILLIAM MORRIS TO LOUISA MACDONALD, inscribed "Louisa Macdonald from W.M." on the front free endpaper, yellow pictorial cloth, upper cover with 4-line of printed text (seemingly deliberately) rubbed away, spine worn, 1856. Some loss to the spine covering; some pencil marks from previous owner (Robin de Beaumont). Louisa Macdonald (1845-1925) was the sister of Georgina Burne-Jones and mother of future Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin.
